College Movie Festival

The College Movie Festival is Greater Cincinnati's long-running student filmmaking production celebration and competition. Students from participating colleges write, shoot, and edit movies with academic oversight for two and a half weeks. Then, three weeks later, the student filmmakers recevie feedback and network with area filimmaking professionals who have seen and made notes on the movies - receiving tips on making their movies better and exploring how the productions evolved. From there the movies are screened and select awards are presented at a professional movie theatre.

The 2025 schedule

• Kickoff: Tuesday, February 18, 6:30pm (start arriving at 6:00pm) at Wandering Monsters Brewing 
• Screenwriting and Pre-Production: Feb 18 - Feb 26
• Production and Post-Production: Feb 26 - March 9
• Initial Cut and In-Progress Production Book due by 11:59pm, March 9
  
• One-on-Ones with the Pros: 1:00pm, March 30 at NKU's Digitorium
• Final Cut, Production Book, and Log Line due by 11:59pm, April 6
• Screening and Awards: TBA, but likely April 26, 9:00am (group A) and 10:15am (group B then awards) at the AMC Theatre in West Chester
