As part of the First-Year Experience, honors students complete a First Year Project. You will actively design and research a project that centers on problem or question of your choosing. Through a guided process in the First Year Experience seminars, you will conduct research and prepare findings to share with your fellow honors colleagues.
During the fall semester, you will have the opportunity to participate in the First Year Research Forum, where you can present your ideas about your project to fellow students and faculty. This is an incredible opportunity to hone in on your presentation skills and better understand how to communicate your personal interests to a broader audience.
Each year, one outstanding First Year Project is awarded the Robert and JoAnn Brinkman Prize (a one-time award of $500.00)!
