Welcome to KYOTE at NKU
The Kentucky Online Testing (KYOTE) placement testing system provides free online placement exams that measure preparedness for college level learning in mathematics, reading and writing. KYOTE placement exams are accepted as measures of college academic readiness by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education and as measures of transition readiness by the Kentucky Department of Education. The College Readiness Indicators document shows all exams accepted by the council and the corresponding benchmark scores for each of them.
More Information about the KYOTE program can be found at https://www.kyote.org and in the User Guide on this site.
KYOTE at NKU provides a free online mathematics textbook Transition to College Mathematics that is carefully aligned with the KYOTE college readiness math exam and the KYOTE college algebra exam, each of which is based on a set of clearly defined standards. Each section of the textbook references the standards covered in that section. Additional resources include the exercise sets in Word, answers to the odd-numbered exercises, the standards for each exam, and instructions for ordering hard copies of the textbook.
